Cameron Brooks was born and raised on the island of Oahu where he graduated from Punahou in 2001. He has passionately pursued aerial photography for the last 3 years, capturing unique angles of Oahu and Kauai from the vantage point of a helicopter. With this unique perspective, Cameron is able to capture never-before seen views of the islands. His most famous image came in 2012, when 3 bolts of lightning struck 3 separate buildings from Waikiki to downtown Honolulu at the same time. He also captured the massive "Human Peace Sign" made of 3000+ people in Kapiolani Park during one of his initial helicopter flights. His favorite landmarks to shoot are Diamond Head and Lanikai at sunrise and sunset. Despite logging hundreds of flight hours, every flight presents a new and unique challenge for him. "This is a job that rewards inventiveness and creativity.. every night before I go to bed, I imagine myself flying around in the helicopter, visualizing new angles in my head! I don't mind flying through storms either. Some of the most incredible images appear right after a large rainstorm clears." He is currently planning future flights to Lanai and Maui to capture areas that have never been shot before. All of his images are captured with a 5Dmarkii at 21megapixels.
