With an educational background in Ecotourism, Gilney has a passion for travel and nature. In 2004, Gilney began scuba diving and shortly after bought his first digital camera with the goal of doing underwater photography, and would eventually become a Master Diver with an emphasis on cave diving. It wouldn't be long before Giley would expand his photographic interests to landscape and aerial photography and to travel the world in search of opportunities to make art. Gilney believes that the experience and maturity he has gained in his world travels are what allows him to be a successful photographer.
